One of the most interesting things about the PQ is seeing all the different approaches to design. It seems as though it goes beyond design and into a heightened form of art. The examples below are various scene designs, costume designs and puppet design that sparked my interest and made me examine my own approaches to costume design.

The Taming of the Shrew Scenographic concept by Asmaa Hammouch |
Below is Design work from the National University of Theatre and Film "I. L. Caragiale", Romania. The concept sketches with the costume and scenic designs are at such a high level for student work. I loved seeing the smaller side sketches and concept designs that accompanied the renderings. The swatches, textures and images of the finished product helped to paint a complete picture of the designers process.
Puppet Theatre Yambol Designs by Tsetska Ivaylova |
These costume designs below by Qin Wenbao in the China PQ exhibit, showed a very striking design with the white garments that were painted with a calligraphy technique in black ink.
He wrote "As a poet creates poetry, thought and spirit are free, and I create it in the fantasy of freedom."
